Dell Inspiron 3800 Admin Password Reset I just wanted to say a couple things about 'LatitudeMasterPW.exe'. 1.) If your 'Primary Password' is disabled enable it so that when you reboot you can get the whole 'serial number' for your Laptop. (Do not put the leading # sign into the 'LatitudeMasterPW.exe' program, put in everything else up to but not including the comma) I know this sounds funny about the 'Primary Password' but on this Laptop only the 'Admin password' was enabled. That means the 'initial password protection screen' will not come up when you start your Laptop and that is where THE number is. So anyway when and if you enable the 'admin password' then the 'configure setup' option is viewable and comes up Disabled so that no one can make changes to your bios settings.
Dell Bios Password Removal Tool
You can't even change the date and time! If you disable 'Admin Password' then 'Configure Setup' is not viewable. A former employee set this for me and that's why I was stuck. No I wasn't going to call him he got fired. 2.) So in my case once I got the 'initial password' screen up and had a new password from 'LatitudeMasterPW.exe' I tried what I read and heard from Dell and thi post.
Just pressing enter after typing the 'new password' clears the 'Master Password' but not the 'Admin Password'. I read the posts again and found one that said to press enter twice while holding down the Ctrl key. That didn't work. But what did work was to press Ctrl+enter and hold it down for a while. I'm thinking I held it until the boot process started and maybe even until the bios setup screen appeared. Then when you go to the security page the 'Master Password' and the 'Admin Password' options are disabled and there is no 'configure setup' option. Cool, ty all.
3.) Just thought I'd add a 3rd thing. I did call dell and they gave me the same 'default password' number as the 'LatitudeMasterPW.exe' did. Between dell and you guys I can know set the date and time to the proper value. Where Dell support failed, in my case, was not to tell me to hold down the ctrl+enter key for a while. Of course this is just one BIOS in one Laptop in a world full of Laptops. My personal opinion is that if you need security that bad to protect your computer just live with putting in a 'master password' only.

Inspiron 1150 model PP08L I have model PP08L and since I asked the question, I found the little bugger 24LC16B. I had to take apart the entire notebook to find it on the bottom of the MB! In order to jumper it and put it back together to apply power to it, I had to mark the location and then reassemble the notebook. Then I had to actually cut out about a 1/2' square in the bottom of my notebook in order to access the darn eeprom! I then used a paper clip to jumper the 3rd from the left on top and the 4th from the the left on the bottom. It did not work at first but I had my wife repeatedly cycle the power on and off and it suddenly began to boot into Win.
I used the computer for a while and then shut it down. I then tried to boot it and I found I was back to square one stuck on the admin. Password screen again!
How frustrating! What do I have to do, jumper it every time I want to use it? How can I make this permanent. I was actually going to go into setup when I restarted. Thanks for the quick response. Hi Paragon, I have a C840 that I have now found to have a 595B suffix to the service tag. I cannot clear the admin password with MasterPW, so I have sent you a email to kindly request the software you have.
I too bought my laptop second hand, but know it not to have been stolen. It required a UXGA screen that was deemed too dear to replace - Obviously haven't heard of that wonderful place called ebay! I am using it now with the new screen I replaced, but it is running Windows 2000. It is setup with a limited account. As I do not have an administrator password to use it to its fullest, I would like to install a fresh copy of XP on it. Can't boot from CD without the Admin password though - HELP:knock.
Dell password all your`s problems are stored in a eeprom24cXX (02,04.) atmel chip read a chip with some eeprom reader and send me on email and i read your password for you in eeprom are stored user pass master pass hdd pass (only if a hdd is lock in the same laptop) serial number and tag So you can change all this if you want DO NOT ERASE FILES IN THE EEPROM IF HDD IS A LOCK ON THE SAME LAPTOP DO NOT CONNECT SOME PINS ON THE EEPROM ( I READ SOME SOLUTIONS FOM THIS FORUM) IF YOU ARE NOT SKILED (SOME SMART GUY BURN A VGA ON THE MOTHERBOARD (DELL D600) 2 DAY`S AGO) SO. An this is a only good solution (solder and desolder a chip from motherboard) for now for all dell notebook`s this is it for now sorry for my bad english. You are welcome to your opinion since this is an open forum, but if you remove the harddrive before starting the shorting technique, it works fine. The hardddrive is a lost cause of course, but you will have a laptop which will function normally with a new harddrive after using the software I use to reset the Service TAG.
Far more motherboards are ruined by an amateur soldering on a new EEProm chip than with the shorting method. I have done a bit of soldering on double-sided boards, but that chip is one I will not try to replace. I have lost count of the people who have contacted me on my Email for the files and then recontacted me later to report success.
I was successful in shorting the EEPROM and reseting the service tag. I can now enter BIOS and boot of the CD-ROM, however the system also has a hard disk password. I removed the hard drive when I was shorting the EEPROM. I take it from the above exchange the hard disk is a hopeless cause and a new one will have to be purchased. Is it possible to take out the hard disk and format it?
I have a laptop to IDE and laptop to usb hard disk adapter, so I was wondering if I could clear the HD with this? -Matthew Kent. Dell hdd password Ok this solution is ok when your hdd is not locked but if hdd is lock on your dell and u do this kind of solution you will delete a same information about your pass for hdd because in atmel 24cxx are stored a information about master, user, hdd password, tag.
Dell Administrator and BIOS Password Reset on Laptop Forgot administrator password to login Dell Inspiron laptop? Lost BIOS password when you want to enter BIOS settings option on Dell computer? Now let this passage tell you how to reset Dell laptop admin password and how to remove or clear BIOS password from dell laptop separately.
Question 1: How to Reset Dell Admin Password on Windows 7/8/10 Laptop When we forgot Dell administrator password, we can consider this issue from different perspectives, in order to find appropriate and effective ways to reset forgotten Dell administrator password in different cases. Now we could think that whether the dell administrator is the only available one on Dell computer. If not, just login dell computer with another admin account and change or remove forgotten admin password on Control Panel or with command prompt.
If it is, try to firstly. But don't worry if you don't have such reset disk. Dell administrator password reset would become a little difficult but still can be solved.
Reset Windows 7/8/10 Dell Administrator Password without Disk. For Windows 8/10 dell laptop, even though you have no reset disk, other sign-in options still can make users logon available. For example, password hint, PIN code, Microsoft account can login locked Dell laptop too if you have set up. Even though all of them couldn't work, you still could try the following three ways to after Windows admin password forgot. System password recovery tool At first, let's share one easy utility that can reset Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP and Windows server password effectively on your locked dell laptop. As one of the easiest and most powerful password recovery tool, provides Windows password recovery function.
Once you get it, it would not only help you reset Windows forgotten administrator password, but also recover Office document and archives etc password in few seconds. But if you only want to reset dell laptop forgotten password, is OK. 1-1 Download and install iSunshare Password Genius Advanced on another accessible PC or laptop.
1-2 Run it and choose what you want to do ' Remove Windows administrator and user passwords' and select Windows password recovery program. 1-3 Insert bootable USB drive into computer and choose it to create password reset disk by clicking Begin burning button. When it completes burning a reset disk, exit and plug it into locked Dell computer to. After you see Windows Password Genius runs, select Windows system and admin account.
And then click Reset Password button to remove Windows admin password. Surely, if you want to resolve dell laptop admin password reset issue free, you can try following two methods, that seems more difficult than Windows Password Genius.
System Installation Disc If you have forgotten Windows password, there are several utilities to reset it. One of them is Windows system installation disc. As a side note, this disc which would take about ten minutes to do, is a security hole in Windows 10 and earlier systems, which can prevent an attacker from hacking into computer with encryption. But we can use it to reset Windows password when locked out of laptop.
With it, you would not need anything else. Basically, you have to boot the locked dell laptop from the system installation disk and open up the Command Prompt. And then replace the Ease of Access Center application (utilman.exe) with another copy of the command prompt(cmd.exe). At last, you can use the 'net user' command to set new password for locked administrator. Command to replace utilman.exe with cmd.exe: move d: windows system32 utilman.exe d: copy d: windows system32 cmd.exe d: windows system32 utilman.exe Command to reset dell laptop admin password: net user Refer to: 3. System Restore Example: Use System Restore as Recovery Tool in Windows 8 When alteration leads to your system act strangely, you can undo that by performing a system restore operation. Similarly, you can restore system to early back up point in order to remove admin password.
If Windows cannot start, you can use the to launch System Restore. When Windows does start, you can launch System Restore from within Windows. To do so, just access the System Protection tab and click the System Restore button.
![]()
In a moment, System Restore will begin an initialization process and you'll then see the introductory screen in the wizard driven interface. After System Restore starts, you'll see the first screen in the wizard driven interface. Click Next, and the most recent restore points will show.
If you select the Show more restore points check box, you will see any older restore points that are still available. Select the restore point and restore system to that moment. Compared to system restore, I will prefer to Windows password recovery tool or system installation disc, because I can make sure Windows administrator password can be reset for locked dell laptop, and they seems easier to do for computer newbie.
Question 2: How to Remove BIOS Password on Dell Laptop Generally, when we want to remove BIOS password on computer to set up BIOS, we just need to shut down computer and move battery from mainboard. But it is just applied to compatible computer. For Dell computer, no matter your computer is taken with RTC or not, there is a PSWD jumper, also called password jumper.
Only remove computer battery or clear RTC couldn’t relieve dell BIOS password sometimes. So now let’s see how to. First we have to make sure that PSWD has two or three needles. For different needle PSWD, the way to clear BIOS password is different. One: When PSWD is Two Needle Find out PSWD, and remove power line until main board led turn off. Remove jumper cap on PSWD, start Dell computer and you will hear the sound of drop. And BIOS password is removed or cleared.
Shut down Dell computer and take back jumper cap to PSWD Restart computer, and you don’t need to enter BIOS password when you want to access BIOS setting screen. Two: When PSWD is Three Needle Find PSWD, and remove power line until main board led turn off. Move jumper cap of PSWD from 1-2 needle to 2-3 needle, and start computer. You will hear sound of drop.
Shut down computer and retrieve jumper cap of PSWD to 1-2 needle. Restart computer. Everything is OK. So far, has been successful.
You can do anything on dell computer software and hardware from then on. Related Articles:.

Any amateur computer technician should know how to reset BIOS passwords that can be setup from within the BIOS because there are times when they need access to change some configuration options such as the boot order. If a password has been set, you cannot enter the BIOS or sometimes even boot the computer itself unless you know it, and this can be a real headache if nobody knows what the password is. It’s becoming increasingly common due to the amount of computers changing hands these days and previous owners have set a password and not passed on that information. The most common way that most of us know for resetting or clearing the BIOS password is to physically remove the power from the computer by disconnecting all cables and removing the battery from the motherboard for a few minutes. Another way is to short the clear CMOS jumper on the motherboard itself if one is present.
These methods work because on most desktop and a few laptop motherboards, a battery is used to sustain the BIOS/CMOS settings. By cutting off the power, the BIOS/CMOS settings and password will be erased. If for some reason you’re unable to reset the computer’s BIOS security password by removing the battery or clearing the CMOS jumper, and you don’t know what the password is, here are several options which you can try out to clear it. Generic Backdoor Default Passwords Before using any tools that try to reset or make changes to your BIOS, it’s worth seeing if any of the well known backdoor or default passwords that have been around for some time work. Click on the link below to view the list, the passwords are case sensitive.
If you can Boot into Windows CMOS De-Animator is an up to date tool compared to the majority of BIOS hacking/resetting tools out there, and can reset the BIOS password from within Windows. The latest version 2 executable of CMOS De-Animator is compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems. All you need to do is run the tool as administrator (right click - “Run as administrator”) and click the Proceed button followed by restarting the computer. When your computer boots up, you should see a CMOS checksum error where it allows you to access the BIOS without a password. CMOS De-Animator works by invalidating the checksum of your system’s CMOS memory which resets all settings to default and clears any stored BIOS passwords upon reboot. CMOS De-Animator also has a basic backup and restore option to give you that extra little bit of added security, the file will be stored with a.dea extension.
Dell Bios Password Removal 595b
Do take note of the authors warnings about the problematic nature of using the program on laptops and that usage of CMOS De-Animator is at your own risk. Because of its nature the program will sometimes trigger false positives in antivirus software and on sites like Virus Total. If you Cannot Boot From Hard Drive or CD Although disconnecting the power and removing the battery from the motherboard on desktop computers for a few minutes should remove the password, this is much less likely to work on laptops, but it’s still possible on some older models. For extra security the passwords for laptops are usually stored on a separate EEPROM chip which doesn’t rely on the BIOS battery and is unaffected by cutting the power. If you enter the wrong password a few times on a laptop, there will be a message that the laptop is locked. You will be presented with something like a “System Disabled” or “Password check failed. System Halted” message with some numbers.
If this message appears while entering the BIOS you can simply power off and on the computer to remove it and try again. Take note of the number because it’s a valuable piece of information and required to generate the BIOS backdoor password to get back into the laptop. All you need to do is to have the number to hand and then visit the webpage. This website has been setup to let you easily get the possible passwords based on the number entered, simply enter it and press the button. Then look at the results and note all the passwords which are close to your model of laptop.
Try the codes on the locked BIOS message to see if it works, depending on laptop models you may need to press Enter or Ctrl+Enter after entering the code. The codes used are based on the work of “Dogbert” who’s done a lot of research and created a number of small utilities and also Python scripts for unlocking several different brands of laptop. If the website above or its codes don’t work, visit where you will be able to find more details about your laptop brand and download a separate master password utility for it. To use one of the programs, simply download the correct one for your laptop and run it, then type in the number and hit enter. The master password will be displayed for you to try and unlock the computer. You have to run the master password tool on a computer that can boot into Windows and has.NET installed. If you don’t know which tool to use, it’s safe to try all of them until you find the one that matches your laptop.
There are a number of other reset BIOS password solutions on page 2.
Download the cd iso and burn it to a cd using your favorite program. (I use roxio cause it came with my PC and i am cheap.) Insert the CD into the drive and boot your computer. You will then be brought to a screen in which you will be asked to download the drivers, select your partition, select you username, and change the password. THIS WILL ONLY ALLOW YOU TO CHANGE IT! BTW Windows administrative password has a 120 day freezing period. If you dont use it for that amount of time IT WILL LOCK YOU OUT. This program will allow you to disable the password lock so make sure you select this option.
Hope this helps. Ok i know this topic has being covered already and i have followed all the suggestions that im am capable of doing but still no luck. I used that latitude program for a Dell latitude laptop and entered service tag 1 and aslo tried 5j82x81 both gave me a mater passwork when using latitude.exe ad they were 074gb689 and something else. I tried entering that in the bois to unlock it but it tells me incorect password. Could i be entering the wrong Service tag into the program?
Am i missing anything from the service tag? You can also find more information in this thread. Could i be entering the wrong Service tag into the program? Am i missing anything from the service tag? Rustam, A Latitude CPxJ was recently given to me to repair and upgrade by a co-worker that had received the laptop from a client as token of gratitude for the work he had done for him. Unfortunately, the client had neglected to provide the primary administrator password or the hdd password. I managed to clear the BIOS password through methods provided in the late BIOS clearing megathread, but the hdd password has proven itself to be a far tougher nut to crack. Service Tag: CTJ0601 HDD Serial Number: #AF0AFKG6983-595B If you can provide the HDD password to this machine my co-worker and I will be very grateful.
I bought a c400 knowing about forgoten/lost/. Configure passwords (i examined it befor buying).
I can live with that, but i would be nice, to be able to change ie. Boot order (i got cd after hdd:/). I noticed something about You (rustam) providing master passwords for a story.so here's mine. I'm a student (computer science: AI and software engineering) on technical university of Lodz.since April im also a trainee in leading packing company in Europe. Lately workers had the opportunity to buy some stuff, that was exchanged (among other things two dell's c400). Unfortunately i bet to low (it was a tender, not an auction), so it wasn't me who get one of them, but.i liked it so much, that i looked for it on (equivalent of eBay in Poland).
I found it and bought it, but with a configuration password (i can enter bios, but cannot change a single thing). Ofcourse the owner did not know the pass.he did not even realised that there was such a problem (guess he wasn't much of a computerGuy.he used it as a mobile roadmap). So here I am, writing to You, hoping that You have a solution to it. The Service Tag is: C8WK221 Below the passwords menu there is also '-595B' at the end of the String. (#C8WK221-595B) - it's labeled System Number. Regards, Grzegorz Swierczynski.
EDIT: Thank You for Your fast response. The given PW works great. Once again thank You. Hi I noticed your giving out master passwords for hard drives I just fixed a friends Inspiron 1100 as she had broken the power socket on the motherboard. I replaced the motherboard but when I started the machine for the first time it showed the white screen for bios password which I bypassed but then it showed the hard drive protection screen.
Can you help me as I can't use the old motherboard to unlock the drive as it dosn't work I have tried it in a Latitude C600 which gives the same hard drive protection screen. The service tag is on the Latitude C600 is CVCHN01 and the express service code 138-745-638-91. The old board in the Inspiron 1100 was J3WSX0J express service code was 415-953-597-79 and the new board has no service tag as I erased it when I bypassed it and asset.com will not let me put it back? The hard drive protection screen shows #N4TT3B13SAK-595B, I hope you can help as the only alternative for her is to buy another hard drive. Regards Rich. Hello Rustam, I hope your a not too bored to give password away.
Here is my (classic) story. I bought a Latitude D600 on ebay from. It's a compagny which i guess buy used stock of computer s from compagnies, reprocess them and sell them individually on ebay. So I'm pretty sure that mine was not stolen. There was no HDD pass or bios password activated but the administrator one was meaning that I can't change anything in the bios.
I contacted them and they told me that this password was not in their files so they could do nothing. The service tag is 4B3ZT0J. Thanks much for your help and for your time. Help with a password Hello I have been looking for help to gain access to my computer and this seems the only place that gives me any hope.
I have a Dell C640 with a password set just after booting, this famous grey screen that doesn't allow me to do anything. Rustam, you say you can help us if we tell you how we came to this problem so there it goes. I come from Spain and for the last two years I have been living in the UK, in London, as so many more like me. Nine months ago I bought a second hand desktop computer, a pentium IV, fujitsu siemens, that was helping me a lot even if it wasn't a big machine.
But a couple of months ago I decided to go back to my country. As I couldn't bring the computer with me I decided to sell it but after some time I didn't get any reasonable offer and the time to leave was near. Finally I exchanged it with a friend for a laptop (this Dell laptop) that we both knew needed the password. My friend told me about this website and how maybe I could reset the password following some instructions, he was starting to read the forum by that time and so I did when I got back to my country.
I opened the computer and found the famous chip but it doesn't matter how I short it I never get rid of the password. My friend got this computer from a guy who was working for a big telecoms company in London that was moving its offices and getting rid of lots of equipment. I knew I may not be able to use it but it was better than just leaving the other computer behind and I think this laptop is pretty good for me but now I start to think I have a beautiful paperweight. I hope you can help me with the password, otherwise I'll start again pressing the power on,again and again with my paperclip ready. The grey screen shows #GTP3R0J-595B being 0 a zero.
Thanks very much for your help and your attention and I hope the text is not too long and you fell asleep before the end. Bios Password D610 Hi Rustam, here is my story;-) i got a brandnew Dell Latitude D610! And lucky me i got it for free - cause my company provided it to me. But unfortunately the 'bastard operators from hell' disabled the wireless lan in the bios settings and enabled only hdd as available boot device. And of course the secured it by setting a bios password. Can you help me?
My service tag is: 183-D0-2J (please ignore the spaces. I am just a little paranoid that my admins might know this site and looking up for some service tags one day. Or by google or whatever) what about that 595B? I havent seen it somewhere. Anyway, if you could help me, i really would appreciate that and i am sure i will come back with the service tags from some of my colleagues;-) cheers, tino.
PS: one important question. Does using the master password reset the password set in the bios or is the masterpassword just an additional way to enter the bios settings? Hi Rustam, I tried PMing you but your box is full. Hi Rustam I noticed your giving out master passwords for hard drives or Bios on Dell's for stories. The hard drive protection screen shows #N4TT3B13SAK-595B, I hope you can help as the only alternative for her is to buy another hard drive. Regards Rich Ps I know it sounds a bit lame that she dosn't know the password but truth be known it was actually her x boyfriends. She kept it when they split as he had borrowed money from her but obviously didn't want to pay it back, alas he failed to give her the password or inform her that it had a broken power connector. Rustam I'm in need of your magic. I bought a used DELL Latitude D610 from the My Shopper. It works fine but the Bios setup is password protected and the kid I bought it from didn't even know what the bios setup was let alone the password.
The service tag # is:37WXP71 and the express sevice code is. Your help would be appreciated.
If you can't figure out the password could you tell me where the eeprom is that has to be erased and how to do it. I read a million posts and sites and they all say something different. I don't feel good about blindly shorting out chips unless the info is comming from a COMPUTER GURU Like yourself.I don't want to watch my motherboard fry!!! Thank you for your time, and possibly your help, George You can get me directly: whoyousexing at yahoo.
